Omega Delta Psi offers real life engineering opportunities for Audio Production majors, and any other member who is interested in recording or live sound. Our various projects give members a safe learning environment, where they are encouraged to get hands on experience without the pressure of a grade. Our alumni and upperclassmen are a valuable resources and one on one mentoring is a common dynamic.

  The Recording Project has been a highlight of the ODP experience since the beginning. The recording project was originally modeled after that classroom environment, where a single team would work with a single artist, and work in a commercial facility, limiting the experience by space and budget. As the industry has changed, the recording project has evolved into a guerilla style project, where multiple groups work with separate artists and record in a home environment with ODP's mobile Pro Tools rig. This allows members to work in a project studio environment, learning to adapt their technique to allow for greater creativity, and offering experiences in an atmosphere that is very prevalent in the industry, though rarely covered in the classroom.

  ODP also provides many opportunities to members who are more interested in live sound. We have established relationships with multiple venues in Murfreesboro, allowing hands on experience at live shows on a regular basis. We also send a team of audio engineers to assist at the Folk Alliance International conference in Memphis, Tennessee every year. This is a great opportunity to work along side other professionals and network while building your chops in a real world senario.

  Songwriters within ODP are some of the most talented students possible. Though the youngest concentration within ODP, songwriting is recognized within the membership as one of the most enjoyable for all to share. Once a month the fraternity gets together for a Songwriter Night where a few of our songwriters are featured in front of a welcoming audience. The family vibe and chill atmosphere make for some great times together. Many times, our songwriters get the opportunity to play shows at Bonhoeffers, a free local venue perfect for hanging out and listening to some talented people make music while enjoying the complimentary coffee bar.

  Every semester, ODP has a recording project in which our songwriters are chosen to have one of their songs recorded by a recording team using professional equipment as well as have a press kit created for them by a business team. There are also numerous workshops and panels put on by the Kreative Chair dealing with anything from copyrighting songs to choosing a PRO (Performance Rights Organization). Each songwriter in ODP is treated with respect and individually recognized for their unique style and talent.

  Our Music Business concentration makes up a large part of the Recording Industry major at MTSU. Since its creation, Omega Delta Psi has worked to supplement the concentration's curriculum by providing its members with hands-on experiences that they otherwise would not get in the classroom. Through projects, live shows, conferences, and much more, Omega Delta Psi has helped to provide real world opportunities for its members to be successful.

 Projects provide a great learning experience for those who are participating in them and the same holds true for Omega Delta Psi's Electronic Press Kit project. Throughout the course of the semester, members will be given the opportunity to create electronic press kits (EPKs) for Omega Delta Psi singer/songwriters. These EPKs can be used by the artist for promotional use and will look great on a resume for those who took part in creating it.

 Another area that Music Business students can get their hands dirty is by joining the booking and promotion teams. Omega Delta Psi books, promotes, and produces its own live shows throughout the semester. Whether it is through the booking process, designing show flyers, or by hitting the pavement and hanging posters around town, Omega Delta Psi's members have the opportunity to take part in actual live events, which is a growth area of the industry.

 These are but a few ways that Music Business can get involved and build their resume through the organization. New opportunities are opening up for Omega Delta Psi's members all the time. Through these opportunities and their coursework, Omega Delta Psi's members will network, learn, and gain the experiences needed to be successful in the music industry.
