About Us

    Omega Delta Psi, or ODP, is the first recording industry co-ed professional fraternity in the world. The purpose of Omega Delta Psi is to help future professionals within the recording industry network with other students and recording professionals, and gain experience in their chosen career field through opportunities with ODP.

   Omega Delta Psi was founded in 2006 by six people. Today, ODP has expanded to almost 70 members, and has a growing alumni and honorary member community. In almost 6 years, Omega Delta Psi has been able to work on starting a scholarship with the help of local venues, and has worked to support VH1's Save the Music campaign through events such as Battle to Save the Music and has participated in several recording projects. Our organization is frequently contacted both on and off campus by industry leaders to help with projects and events that deal directly with the recording industry in multiple capacities. ODP has been involved with IBMA, Leadership Music Conference, SERFA, International Folk Alliance, Afro-Flow and the Save the Music Foundation. We have been able to help out with industry events, and have hosted many distinguished speakers and panels from the industry.

   Omega Delta Psi has also been involved with the community through frequent shows throughout Murfreesboro as well as on campus. ODP members book the acts, promote the shows, and run the sound and equipment the night of the event. This experience is important with live entertainment, accounting for a majority of the available employment in the current recording industry. We have also been involved in recording projects from the A&R through the recording process, giving our members the full record creating experience. Omega Delta Psi offers real world, hands-on experience that cannot be found in the classroom.

The Letters

   Our organization's unabbreviated name is Omega Delta Psi, commonly shortened to ODP. Each of the three Greek letters is symbolized as thus:

   Omega is our first letter. Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. It represents solidarity and resolve. Our fraternity was created as a unified group of students coming together for a greater good in the music industry. Delta is our second letter that is commonly known for its use in science as a "change" in something. This change is represented by the altering of the dynamic in what a fraternity is because ODP is a completely different type of fraternity. It changes the way that everyone approaches looking at fraternities and our ultimate goal is to change the music industry individually and collectively. The Psi is symbolized by its Greek letter that is similar to a single branch that expands into three diverse points. Those three ends represent the three pillars of our organization- family, networking, and experience- and how those three individual components come together into one unified strand that holds firm, as the foundation of our organization does.
